Manila — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will host a special reception for Carlos Yulo, the gold medalist from the 2024 Paris Olympics, and other distinguished Filipino Olympians at Malacañan Palace on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
The athletes, including Yulo, are expected to arrive at Villamor Airbase on Tuesday afternoon, where they will be greeted by their families. Following their arrival, the Olympians will proceed to the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), where they will be welcomed by government officials.
The celebration will continue with a heroes’ parade through key areas in Manila, culminating at Malacañan Palace. Upon their arrival at the Palace, President Marcos, First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos, and the First Family will extend a warm welcome to the athletes.
A special program at the Palace will follow, during which President Marcos will personally honor the Olympians and present them with incentives, acknowledging their exceptional achievements and contributions to Philippine sports during the 2024 Paris Olympics.
