Among the matters discussed was the winding down of the AFP Retirement and Separation Benefits System (AFP-RSBS).
AFP-RSBS was a funding mechanism for the payment of retirement and separation benefits due to the members of the AFP. It was ordered abolished by the Office of the President through Memorandum Order (MO) No. 90, s. 2016 to improve national productivity and reduce ineffective and inefficient spending of public funds.
As of December 31, 2022, AFP-RSBS has retained a total net asset of P9.38 billion. General Centino, on his part, thanked Chairperson Quiroz for the warm welcome and reaffirmed the AFP’s support of GCG’s mandate of ensuring good governance and accountability among GOCCs.
