MANILA- Jhudiel Rojas Rivero a.k.a. Osmundo Rivero disclosed to his lawyer that their blood samples were forcibly taken.

“We will inform the court about this. From the viewpoint of a lawyer, this is a bad situation. The blood samples might be planted at the crime scene and evidences to proved their involvement in the slay-case,” Atty. Danny Villanueva said.

He added that Rivero confided the matter to him during his visit last Monday at the NBI detention to talk about their next hearing on May 31, 2023.

Villanueva said that they will file a petition for ‘habeas corpus’ to compel the authorities to release his family.

Villanueva claimed that his client lost contact to his family composed of his wife Quennie, 15 year-old step son Christian King and two year old baby Jhopiel Keith, since they were transferred to the custody of NBI and the Department of Justice on March 14, 2023 from the Police Provincial Office of Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur.

“Rivero could no longer communicate with his family since then and does not have any news about their whereabouts and circumstances,” Villanueva said.

The petition for habeas corpus, the lawyer said is a prelude to filing of criminal cases against agents of NBI and DoJ personnel.

“Their act constitute a crime of abduction or kidnapping. It can also be considered as an arbitrary arrest and detention, as Rivero’s family does not agree to be transferred here in Manila or wherever safe houses,” Atty. Villanueva said.
